We know this time can be full of uncertainty, so we've compiled a list of potential food banks for the areas we serve through our Buckner locations across the state of Texas. Please note: this is not an exhaustive list.

1. Call 2-1-1 Texas or visit www.211texas.org — they’ll connect you to local food pantries, community meals, and school distributions near you.

2. Visit your local food bank:
    • Beaumont: setxfoodbank.org
    • Dallas/Fort Worth: tafb.org
    • East Texas: easttexasfoodbank.org
    • Houston: houstonfoodbank.org
    • Lubbock/Amarillo: hpfb.org
    • San Antonio: safoodbank.org
    • Rio Grande Valley: foodbankrgv.com

Tip: You don’t need to prove your current SNAP status to get food from most pantries.

3. Manage Other Expenses

  • Ask about rent or utility assistance through local Community Action Agencies (CSBG).
  • Contact 211 Texas for emergency financial help or LIHEAP (energy assistance).
4. Stay Connected and Informed
  • Follow your local food bank’s social media for new distribution dates.
  • Sign up for text alerts from your county emergency management.
  • Check for updates from Texas Health and Human Services (HHS) on SNAP reinstatement at hhs.texas.gov
5. Remember: You Are Not Alone

Food support is community support. Many Texas families use food banks and community programs — it’s a normal, temporary step to get through tough times. Don’t wait to ask for help, and plan ahead.
