Empowering and Equipping Females with Entrepreneurial Skills at Buckner International

Buckner Dominicana leads its Manos Esforzados female artisan ministry to help working mothers and single parents earn wages for their families

Buckner International is headquartered in Dallas, Texas, with operations in the United States and six international locations, including the Dominican Republic. In Dominicana, Buckner's nongovernmental organization (NGO) serves vulnerable children and families through Buckner Family Hope Center programs and community-specific ministries, such as Manos Esforzados, which means "strong hands."

Working mothers receiving services through Buckner Dominicana Family Hope Centers gain access to learn even more skills as part of the Manos Esforzados project, which seeks to empower and equip females to help lift and keep their families out of poverty. When parents are strong, children grow up strong. Financial stability can help remove an area of stress for parents as well as teach them marketable entrepreneurial skills they can use beyond their time at Buckner.

Is your business interested in investing into a program like the Manos Esforzados project? Would you like to see beautiful handmade artisan products for your boutique? It is a win for working women in Dominicana and for social conscious companies looking to make the world a better, more equal place for working women and the children who benefit from successful mothers contributing to a family's income.
