NextStep is a supervised independent living program that provides young adults with the support they need to meet their educational, career and independent living goals and achieve self-sufficiency. Through training, coaching, personalized service coordination and opportunities for spiritual development, program participants develop the skills to:
- Build supportive relationships and connections
- Pursue educational and vocational opportunities
- Manage finances
- Secure housing
- Maintain health management
- Explore their identity and culture
Who is eligible for NextStep?
NextStep provides services to young women ages 18 to 24 who have been referred to the program by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (TDFPS) or other partner organizations. Participants must be pursuing an educational goal, working or both. Services will be provided on the Buckner Children and Family Services campus in Dallas in a residential setting.
